These Modern Player Plus Tele Pickguards are designed to work with Tele Modern Player Plus models only. It is important to note that Modern Player Plus guards will not work with Standard Tele, Tele Player or Tele Nashville styles. These guards feature a Modern Player Plus specific design and will not work with any models other than Tele Modern Player Plus.

This guard and plate set is a great way to try something new and add personality with a variety of colors.

Though we offer a number of pickguard rout style options for the middle and neck pickup slots, most standard pickguards for the Tele Modern Player Plus feature a middle position standard Strat-sized Single pickup rout and neck position standard Tele-sized Single pickup rout. Strat and Tele sized pickups and pickguard routs are not interchangeable.

Guard Color/Style
We offer many different pickguard colors and styles. Follow this link to see samples of our available colors and find more information about material styles.
*Standard styles are cut from multi-ply traditional pickguard materials. Unless specified, material layers may vary (impacts side edging color).
*Standard solid styles are cut from single-ply traditional pickguard materials and do not have the customary side stripe.
*Other styles are custom single-ply solid, specialized material without a side stripe. Some options in this color category feature a range of transparent, translucent, shimmer, sparkle, or reflective qualities. Contact us for details if these features are important to your project as the gradient varies between styles. Many of these materials are designed to vary in pattern, color, and style, providing unique outcomes for each project – expect variability.
*Allow and expect color and pattern variation due to photo and monitor settings, natural product variance, and personal perception. If you are looking for a particular outcome or project color match, carefully consider your purchase as many of our material options are designed to provide unique project finishes and we cannot guarantee a specific look.

Bevel Style
Choose a standard bevel style or an unbeveled finish edge. Bevel style choice will apply for both guard and plate. Please see example images provided for sample finish looks.

Guard Mounting Style
Choose from no mounting holes (undrilled, do-it-yourself), 5-Hole Vintage pattern or 8-Hole Standard style.
*Tele Control Plate features standard mounting holes.
*Mounting screw holes are counter-sunk.

Neck Pocket Style
Choose a standard neck style with or without a truss rod notch.

Pickup Rout Style
This guard offers your choice of Tele Modern Player Plus middle and neck position pickup rout styles including Strat Single Coil Standard Size, Tele Neck Single Coil Standard Size, Humbucker with Squared or Rounded Corner Styling, Mini Humbucker, Lipstick Humbucker or Wide Range Humbucker. Standard Tele Modern Player Plus pickguards feature a middle position Standard Strat-Sized Single pickup rout and neck position Standard Tele-Sized Single pickup rout. Strat and Tele pickups and pickguard routs are not interchangeable.
*Not all options will work with standard body routing. Modifications may be required depending on your selections.
*Squared Corner Humbucker pickup routs are designed for covered or active humbucker pickup use. Rounded Corner Humbucker pickup rout styles are designed to work with standard uncovered humbuckers and will not work with covered or active pickups.
*All routs are designed to work with standard sized pickups. If you have something outside normal measurements, be sure to contact us for specialized consideration or a custom quote.

Control Plate Options
Choose your own options and styles and we’ll cut a new plate to match your new guard. Please note that some of our specialty style materials are designed to vary in color, pattern or style in order to provide unique outcomes so plates and guards cut from the same material may naturally differ in appearance. Be sure to check your option selections and compatibility with selections/placement. Plate features include:
*Standard Plate Mounting Hole Style (countersunk holes)
*Choice of Switch Options: None (no switch), Standard Blade/Knife Style Switch Cut with Mounting Hole Style Choice, or Standard Gibson Style Toggle Switch Hole
*Choice of Control Hole Options in Three Positions (A, B & C): None (undrilled), Drilled for Standard Control Pot, or Drilled for Standard Mini Toggle Switch
--Pot Holes are compatible with standard full or mini size pots
--Standard Plates have pot control holes at Positions A & C
Most plates come with pre-applied aluminum shielded electronics area (shape & color may vary). Specialty colors/styles may have single or double-sided protective covering without aluminum shielding so we include a separate piece of shielding with each purchase of these styles so you can choose whether/how to apply it.

These items will not fit anything other than specifically noted compatible models. They will not work with non-standard components or systems and may not work with some pickup covers/styles. Items will not fit “Squier” “Deluxe” “Light” any Artist Series or Reissue, or anything else other than “Fender® Standard” model guitars in the years and configuration noted. Ask in advance and we are happy to provide fit/compatibility information or make special arrangements if possible.

Note that we do not recommend installation using power tools as these can put too much force on the product and cause damage, this is especially true for mirror and specialty style materials. Take your time for installation; do not use power tools and do not over-tighten screws or other components.
